Your donations help keep our store stocked with quality resale items and support Eastern Christian School and local charitable organizations. All donations are tax-deductible.

How To Donate

Please do not leave donations after hours
Limit: 3 bags/boxes per carload per day

No need to call ahead for non-furniture donations.

What We Accept


We gladly accept clean, quality, gently used or new items such as:

  • Clothing and shoes for men, women, and children

  • Jewelry and accessories

  • Lamps with shades

  • Knickknacks and decorative items

  • Toys & games

  • Electronics (small/working)

  • Small appliances (working)

  • Sporting goods (in good condition)

  • Books

  • Housewares (kitchenware, cookware, utensils, small décor)

  • Holiday decorations

Items must be clean, complete, and in good, sellable condition.

For furniture, follow the Furniture Donation Guidelines below (pre-approval required).

  • For safety, space, and quality reasons, we are unable to accept the following:

    Baby & Children Equipment
    Cribs, Pack-n-Plays, walkers with wheels, highchairs, car seats, and strollers.

    Large or Hard-to-Sell Furniture & Appliances
    Entertainment centers, large china cabinets, office furniture, water beds, water heaters, pianos/organs, and large appliances.

    Electronics & Office Equipment
    TVs, computer monitors, non-working electronics or appliances, printers, scanners, and typewriters.

    Textiles & Bedding
    Used blankets, comforters, drapes, sheets, pillows, and mattresses.
    (We only accept these items if they are new and in original packaging.)

    Sporting & Specialty Items
    Scooters, rollerblades, skis, golf equipment, and exercise machines.

    Other Items Not Accepted
    Wedding gowns, stuffed animals, undergarments, VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, or other outdated media.

    If you’re unsure, please contact us before donating.

  • We no longer offer pick-ups for furniture donations.
    Due to space limitations, we cannot accept large furniture such as entertainment centers or TV storage units.

    To donate furniture:

    1. Email furniture@dittonj.org with your name, phone number, and clear, well-lit photos of each item. (Photos must show details and condition of wood and fabric.)

    2. Once approved, you’ll receive drop-off instructions.

    3. Bring help to unload and move your items inside.

    4. Check in at the Donation Door and ask for a manager.

    A tax receipt will be provided for accepted items.

  • Yes. ditto is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You’ll receive a receipt for any accepted donations.

  • We try to accept as many donations as possible but must decline items that are broken, damaged, outdated, or unsellable, as well as certain large or restricted items due to space and safety limitations.

  • You do not need to call ahead for general donations.
    Furniture donations, however, must be pre-approved via email before being dropped off.

  • No. Please only bring donations during our open donation hours:
    Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
    For safety and stewardship, items left outside cannot be accepted.

  • We strive to reuse and responsibly redirect as many items as possible. Unsellable items may be recycled, repurposed, or passed on to other organizations when appropriate to minimize waste.
